VALUE OF FISH.
The fish caught by English fishermen every year are estimated to be worth about £8,000,000, and those by Scotchmen £3,000,000. The fish taken immediately off the coast of Ireland are worth only £500,000, yet the Irish seas are noted for their abundance of fish.
Miss Goodly : What’s the matter, my poor man, you look ill ’ Tramp : Madam, something I haven't eaten has disagreed with me.
