HAMPSTEAD SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—lt seems evident that Mr W. W. Smith's sole intention m writing to you upon a subject, on which he shows a lamentable amount of ignorance,, is to display his letter-writing fapabilit'es to advantage. He is, too, very anxious to draw my father into a controversy, bufc I may tell him that my father has neither time nor inclination to bother disputing such unfathomable twaddle as emanates from Mr Smith. It is strange, too, that i your correspondent being " interested m the institution " did not think it worth while to contest a seat upon the School Committee. I suppose though that as '/ a man of brains and business " he foresaw what the result would be and wisely "kept dark." However, I feel sure that Mr Smith, if successfully elected, would have afforded his fellow Committeemen some capital fui). I would also strongly advise him if m future he find it necessary to '"correspond" to adopt less which would be quite as satisfactory and more to the point.— I am etc., A, H. C. Orr.
