The Overseer was instructed to notify all Owners that gorse, growing on the rjack adjoining their land must be cleared l>y August 31; or th« Board wculd take steps to clenr the same at their expense. CROSSING NEAR MR GRANTS. Mr Chapman reported that Mr Ci»rry was willing to pay half cosL of a crossing near Mr Grant's. The Overseer was instructed to have the crossing, made as soon as tha half cost had been paid to him. VILLAGE SETTLEMENT ROAD. Mr H. Bates, through the Overseer, drew the Board's attention to the fact? that a natural water course had been blocked on the "Villas Settlement road, which caused his Lad to be flooded m wet wecither.—Resolved' to order the water course to be opened out again, CORRESPONDENCE, A petition, signed by thirteen ratepayers, asking the Board to do something to the Village (Settlement road, was received. After some conversation the Overseer was instructed to inspect the road and report at the next meeting ot the Board. • The District Surveyor wrote re the road through R,S. 26799, stating that no surveyor was available for the work.—Left tvith the 'Chairman to see the Chief Surveyor, The County Council wrotj stating that the Engineer had been instructed to have the approaches to bridges on the water race at Mount Somers repaired.—tieceived. The Council also wrote asking the Board to reconsider its decision m not; calling a public meeting, to recommend names of persons to constitute a County Board.—Left with the Chairman to arrange. NOTICE OF-MOTION. Mr Chapman gave notice thathe would, at the next meeting of the Board, propose—" That a rate of one half penny m the £ be levied mi all rateable property m the district for the year ending March 31, 1892." ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £48 7s 4d were passed for payment and the Board adjourned.
