(PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION^
London, March 17. The Bank of England subscribed 100 guineas, and the Goldsmiths' Company £100 to the Queensland Relief Fund. Sydney, March 18. The railway revenue lost £10,000, owing to the floods having caused the traffic to fall off.
Wellington, March 18. Subscriptions to the local flood fund amount co £306.
Probably the largest losers by the Brisbane floods of any single firm are Scott, Dawson and Stewart, whose warehouse is at the corner of Elizabeth and Creek streets. The water flooded two of their flats. The firm estimate their loss between £20,000 and £-000. They have secured the Exhibition building and ground, and have arranged with the officers of the Salvation Army to obtain the services of 200 persons to wash, dry, and cleanse the goods. There are fully a dozen firms in Brisbane who will lose over £10,000 each.
