SETTLEMENT OF THE MINERS 1 STRIKE.
London, November 19. The Conference relative to the miners' strike has decided that the men should resume work at the old wages until February, and that a conciliation board, comprising twentyeight delegates from the mine owners and miners, should be appointed forthwith, the Board to continue in office for one year, and to determine the rate of wages from time to time. The appointment of the Chairman of the Board, and the casting vote, if necessary, virtually rests with the Speaker of the IJonse of Commons. There is great relief throughout the country at the settlement of the difficulty. The miners enthusiastically thanked JJord Rosebery for the successful germination qf the conference. The " Daily Chronicle " describes the result as a great labor victory. Washington, November IQ. Twenty thousand people are starving in Wisconsin through the stoppage in the iron trade.
