RAROTONGANS.
(To the Editor.)
Sib, — I am instructed by the Chief Te Pou to state that, having read the letter of Mr J. XL Gamier in your issue of lasfc evening, in which Mr Gamier deplores the miserable attendance on Friday evening last, the Chief desires through your columns (not having the pleasure of enjoying Mr Garnier's acquaintance) to convey to him the heartfelt thanks of himself and the Rarotongan Native Troupe for the noble and generous manner which, actuated him in writing the letter above mentioned. The. Chief also desires to express his acknowledgements to the members of the press for the kind manner in which they hate spoken of them during their sojourn in this city, and should at any time any of the above visit their island home they will endeavour to reciprocate the kindness shown them while here.—l am, etc., A. E. Glover.
