POVERTY BAY OARSMEN.

Sir,—On behalf of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club 1 am directed to tender their heartiest} thanks to tiixe various clubs in Auckland who havf^ assisted to make our crew's stay in your ciby as pleasant as possible. We desire to specially mention the West End and Waitemata Clubs, the former of whom enabled us to score a success lon Saturday last, to their own club's loss, Ijy providing us with their gig-, without which we could n,ot possibly have won the race. To <;he Waitemata Club we are indebted foor the use of their ehed and for their many kind offers of assistance at various times during oar stay, which, on the whole, has been an exceedingly pleasant one, and. we hope to remew the acquaintance at an early date. We trust that Aucklanders will at some time return our visit here and enable us to return their many kindnesses. To the press of Auckland, and particularly the Star, we desire to offer our warmest tha.nks for their kind attention and their endeavours to promote our best interests while here.—l am, etc., John Adeane.
