ENEMY ALIENS' PROPERTY.
A FUNIt OF 100.000.000 DOLS. AN AMERICAN PROPOSAL. WASHINGTON, January 14. The Alien Property Custodian, Mr. Miller, has recommended to the President the immediate creation of a huge Federal corporation financed with alien property funds to effect a revival of trade between the United States and former enemy Powers. Mr. Miller states that there is available for this purpose 100 million dollars, realised by the sale of property seized during the war. The Custodian believes that this would not only restore trade relations but develop a surplus which would assure Oermany's liquidation of all legitimate American claims and eventually enable the United States to return the original funds intact to the rightful alien owners, thereby avoiding the confiscation of enemy property. Meanwhile the Custodian favours the utilisation of the sum as a credit for German firms that lost property in the I United States through war seizures.—(A. , |and N.Z. Cable.) j
