RECORD AMERICAN MOTOR SHOW. HUGE PRODUCTION LAST YEAR XEW YORK, January 6. The greatest automobile show in history has been opened in New York. Five hundred cars are exhibited, representing 71 different makes. There are also 283 exhibits of accessories. Prices of cars range from 480 dollars (£9O) to 9000 dollars (£1800). A feature of the show is the unusually large proportion of closed models. America produced 4,014.000 cars in 1923, including 2.000,000 Fords. The wholesale value of the passenger cars alone exceeded 2,000,000,000 dollars (£400,000,000). Australia was the largest customer for American cars. There are 14,000,000 automobiles in the United States, or 85 per cent of the | world's production. America now has lone automobile to every two families.
