THE LATEST. Wellington (via Napier), September 12.
The House met at 11 o'clock to-day. A message was brought down, recommending an amendment in rlauso 10 of the Public Woiks Bill, by the insertion of words accepting one million under the conditions of the Imperial guarantee. The amendment was agreed to. A Temporary Loan Bill (four years) in anticipation of the Public Works and Defence Loan Bill has been passed. The Governor in Council is to fix the rate of interest.
