Arthur and Son report of their sale to-day : — Powb, 2s to 3s 10d each ; ducks, 2s 5d to 2s 6d ; turkeys, 4s 6d ; potatoes, 5s to 5s 8d per cwt. ; onions, 2d to 4d per lb. ; maize, 4s per bushel ; oats, 3s 3d to 3a 4d ; bacon, 5d to 8d per lb. ; flour, 131. t& 161. per ton ; rice, 2£d per lb. ; sugar, s£d ; cheese, 44d to sd. Mrssrs. H. L. Cohen and Co. report that th«y held a sale of/TfMuidry unredeemed pawnbrokers' pledges. There was a good attendance, ana prices satisfactory. Furniture sold at — mattresses, from lls to 17s ; 100 tables, 23s to 255 ; coffee tables, 6s to 7s ; dressing tables, 10s ; washstands, from 10s to 13s ; wooden chairs {kauri), from 4s 6d to 4s 9d ; leather stuffed chairs, 6s to 7s 6d ; single iron bedsteads, from 17s to 18s ; and lot of household ware sold at very good prices to the owners. Hamilton Cattijs SALE.—On Tuesday, Mr. Knox sold by auction the live stock and effects of Mr. Joseph Pennington. There are a great many buyers of Caledonian and Thames stocks ; they only await minimum prices, My sales comprise — Caledonian, 125/., 119/., 121/. ; Thames, 24/. ; Nonpareil, 51. 17s Gd." Mr. Edgar W. Walker reports :— " The sharemarket has been active to-day, with a downward tendency in Caledonians and Thames. I have sold Caledonians, 125/., 120/. -closing, 120/.; Thames, 24?. ; Tokatea, 93s Cd, 95s ; Nonpareil, 6/. ; Albnrnia, 5/. ; All Nations, S3s ; Bright Smiles, 42s Cd." Messrs. Saott and Co. report :— " Sharemarket rather depressed. Caledonians have receded to 120/ , and Tiiames are selling at 24/.^ Central Italy, 45s ; Golden Calf, 60s ; Moanataiari, 5/. 15s ; Nonpareil, 61. Sellers Mary Anne, Evening Star, Brunswick; Tokatea No. 2, 2s Gd; Qua Market closed without any appearance of activity."

Sydn'ev. — We have Sydney papcra to August 12. The Mail of that day reports : — " The import markets aie unaltered, except that Dundee good 3 are slightly dearer. Sales of cornsacks have been made up to 12s, woolpacks at 4s, twine 4!A to (3d. — The 'Bernard' (s.) with the fiist of the new season's teas ai rived at Melbourne from Foochoo on Thursday last, and is expected here on Tuesday. The shipment for Syduey will be offered at auction on Wednesday. — A reduction of 10s per ton has taken place in millers' quotations, bakers' silk -dressed being £16. Butter of first-class brands is easily quifcl d at full rates, la to Is 3d ; but a large quantity of inferior is in agents' hands, some of which may be bought at from 4d per lb. Some good samples of cheese and bacon have gone off at prices so.newhat higher than those of bst week. Case eggs are 3d per dozen lower, but fresh eggs maintain their pi ice. Onions are becoming scarce, and are worth £3 more per ton."
