OBITUARY
ilR HERBERT NOEL TAYLOR.
The death occurred in the Napier Hospital yesterdav of ' Mr Herbert Noel Taylor, up until last year a resideut of Napier, at the age of 39. Born 111 Napier, and educated in the towu, the late Mr Taylor, at an early age, entered the Napier office of tlie NorthBritisli Freezing Company as a junioland very soon made it apparent by his abilitv and diligence to duty that he was destined for higher things. He was actually associatecl with the North British Freezing Co. and later vitli Mr Kinross White for 20 years, rising to the rank of accountant. During tlie courso of his business careev in Napier he earned the respect and affection of all with whom he came iu contact and in his life outside of business circles also made a host of friends. F.ver a keen sportsman, he took a great interest in football iiarticularly. The late Mr Taylor was one of the oldest members of tlie Napier Savage Club and for a period of two years filled the position of secretary to universal satisf action. In the early days of the Great War, tlie deceased gentleman went to Samoa with the first New Zealand reinforeemcnts. A year ago lio was appointed secretary of tlie Wairoa Farmers' Meat Co., a position which he only^ filled for a year, increasing had health* causing liim to como down to Napier and onter tlie Napier Hospital for treatment early in the New Year. Instead of sliowing improvement, however, lie lost ground, but bore his nffliction with a chcerfulness and a spirit that was charactcristio of liim. He leaves a wifo to mourn lier loss. There were no children of tlie marriage.
