FLYING VISITOR
HASTINGS 'PLANE OVER NAPIER. INSPECTION OF LANDING GROUND. The whirr of an aeroplane engine attracted the attention of residents in Napier at about 10.15 this morning to the Hawke's Bay Aero Club's D.H. Moth 'plane, which, piloted by Captain White, pilot instructor of the Hawke's Bay Aero Club, flew over Napier at that hour this morning. When over the business area, Captain White shut off his engine and planed down in the direction of the Napier Aero Club's landing ground in the Riverbend road vicinity. At one stage it looked as if the 'plane was going to land on the proposed site, but he apparently did not intend to do so, opening the throttle again and flying away in the direction of Hastings. It is understood that Captain White carried out an inspection of the Napier Club's landing ground from the air, in view of the forthcoming visit to Napier of the Minister for Defence, the Hon. T. M. Wilford.
