WELLINGTON. Tbis day. Passengers 011 board the Manuka, wliicli arrived at Wellington to-day from Melbourne, bad an unenviable time. Tbe vessel left Melbourne at noon on April 3 and witliin 24 hours rau into tlie cyclone wliicli caused .sucli lieavv damage in northern Tasmania. Rain fell witliout a break for 48 hours and tbe Manuka was beset with lieavy liead seas and an easterly gale. Rlio made slow progress. but no damage was donc. The conditions improved yesterday and furtlier improved nearing port. Tbe Manuka was due yesterday morning.
