RKSULTS OF THE COAIPETITIOxNS HAWKE'S BAY CHAMPION CUP, The weather was boisterous for the concltiding day of the Wairoa County Collie Club's trials. Tlie star event was taken on Friday morning, and reresulted in D. Glynan's Star gaining the first plaee with a score of 55 points, E. M. Dahm's Limerick being sec-ond with 54 points. The Hawke's Bay championslup cup, competed for the first time, and won outright, fell to E. R. Lowe's Blaek Rose. The following is a list of the special prizes won during the trials: — Ballin Bros.' Cup (champicm dog).E. JI. Dahm's Limerick. Whippet Cup and garage donation, best type of dog scoring half points n anv class. — F. Williams' Bob. W. Dahm's Cup for team of two dogs.— G. Glynau. Waikaremoana Settlers' Cup, maiden dog in Class III. — E. M. Dahm's King. Cullen and Cook's Cup, best team of three dogs. — E. M. Dahm. IT. GrouPs trophy for maiden competitor a-nd dog. — D. Glynan. A. T. Carroll's gold medal, best Native competitor. — S. Lambert. D. Glynan's trophy, best competitor inidcr 21.— D. Wilson. H. J. Macdonald's trophy (second prize in foregoing. — E. Smyth. R. E. Neale's trophy (silver-mounted collar) for best maiden slut. — D. Wilson. Thomson-.Jonson Cup for huntaway, Class III. — F. Williams' Scope. The weight-estimating prizes resulP od as follows : — First day : The exact weight, 521bs., was given by S. Ruawai, S. Lambert and J. Dahm, a tie. The first named won in the draw.Second day: Exact weight. 591 llis., J. McBurnie. R. Smvth and P. Dolbel all gave figures within a quarter of a nott nd, and in the draw R. Smyth won. Third dav: J. Dahm, 0 Neilson and S A Dickie eslimated within a quarter of a pottnd of the exact weight, and J Dahm won on the draw. On Thursday night the social and presentation of prizes took nlace, and was well attended. Mr G. Sinclair was AI.C. The president, Mr R, S. Standing, in presenting the ni'izes added the cltVh's tbinks to Mr F. FTarrison for providing the sheep. also the hulge, Mr A. McGlashan. and Miss Pattison and her fellow-workers.
