Five lofts conipeted in the race for the cup, thc conditions of the race being that eacli loft had to enter tliree birds, the owner trapping in ali ln's birds in thc quickcst timo being thc winner. Thc race was fiown from Petone, a distance of IdO miles, and G. Fox was the winner, covering thc distance in 3hrs. 8iiiiiis. 40secs.
