PRECAUTIONS IN FRANCE. Passenger Trade Falls OfF.

Smallpox measures were enforced in French ports for tlie first time when the Folkestone-Boulogno boat, which ordinarilv carries --'50 passengers, arrived to-day. iSlie had orily 93 passengers, of whom 24 produced Britisli medical certificates that tlicy had been vaccinated recently. Tlie others were berded in tbe sanitar.v office and given sanitary passports, wlieroby they • reniain. under supervision in wliatever distriet they are visiting, and must infonn tbe autborities if they show symptoms of illness.
