CHRISTCHURCH, Last niglit. A deputation of unemployod waited on tbe Prime Minister in Cliristchureh 011 Monday. Tbe press was not admitted, but to-dav, at an unemployed meeting, representatives at tbe deputation told tlie meeting sonicthing of what Sir Joseph Ward bad promised. Jt was stated that the Premier told tbe deputation that lie liojied to provide work for about 500 men before construetion work in tbe South Island main trunk railwav started, and tliat these raihvay works would give employniciit to from 0000 to 5000 men. Tt was also stated that Sir Joseph told tbe deputation to keep on bammering at loeal bodies until May 1.
