At a public meeting to-niglit organised under tbe auspices of tlie Motor Builders' Association, a resolution was carried urging the Goveniment to take inmiediate action to stop tlie wliolesale importation into tlie eountry of Ameriean cars and motor bodies, wbereby, and in consequence of wliicli, millions of mone.v are sent every year out of Xew Zealand to tbe United States. Tbe resolution urged tliat such iniportations impoverislied tbe eountry and iiicreased unemployment.
