SPLAYING OFF STREET CORNERS. RESULTS OF VOTING. A proportion of Napier rat'epayers yesterday sliowed their approval' of Ihe proposal to raise a loan totalling £7000 to be devoted by the Napier City Council to rounding and splaying off corners in various parts of tlie borough, by visiting tbe poll during tlie day and voting so that the proposal was carried by a substantial majority. While only 733 ratepayers, out of a total of 2800, exerc-ised tlieir rigbt to a vote, this number must be taken as very fair, as numbers of people quite apparently did not regard tlie issue as of extreme imporxance.
