A GREAT STRUGGLE.
CELTIC SECURE A WIN. A great struggle was witnessed between Celtic and H.S.O.B. A., particularly in the first spell. Playing with the wind in this spell, Celtio set a merry pace, from which Townsend and Keith both scored tries, whicli were converted by Lewis. Old Boys retaliated with tries by Crawford and Thompson, oue of which was converted by Thompson, the spell ending in favour of Celtic with two points to spare. The start of the second spell found the Colts again on the job, Wells getting an unconverted try. Old Boys tlien attacked strongly and repeatedly had Celfic in trouble, but they failed to find a hole iq the defence. Celtic retaliated but found the line equally hard' to cross until McArthur got away and enahled Duigan to cross just on time. Lewis converted, making Celtic winners by 18 points to 8. Mr W. Thurlow controlled the game.
