WIN FOR WAIMARAMA.
CLOSE FIN1SH. A hard-fought game was played between the new junior teams Matariki and Waimarama. For.. a long time play was even and then Matariki' s liopes were raised when Kingi got over well in the corner. A couple of minutes later the Blues figured in a grand passing bout from which Morgan crossed. Neither try waso converted, the spell end ing in favour of Matariki by 6 to nil. In the second spell play was hard Waimarama using the wind well and pressing Matariki hard and there were loud cheers when Gillies landed a penalty goal. Waimarama kept the pressure up and a little later Gillies repeated his previous dose, making the scores even. Then Angust got over after a good follow through, but the try was unconverfed. Matariki rallied in the final stages, but failed to score, tlie game ending in favour of Waimarama by nine points to six, Mr C. Foster was in charge.
