Dig over all vacant ground, ahd if there is no immediate use for it, sow oats or some' other soiling crop. Clean up, before the ground gets too wet, all old cabbage leaves and other rnbbisli. Pumpkins, marrows, etc.. should be barvested as soon as possible. Put tl-em in a dry, aii'y sbed. Rats are particularly fond of the seed, and soon plav havoc if thev get amongst them. Kumeras should be dug as soon as ready; thev deteriorate if left in cold, uet ground. Earth up celery and leeks as required. The first celerv should be readv for use now. Tomatoes have hung on well. but any ■plants that are ouite over should he pulled up. The plants get very untidy unless attended to. Sowing of carvots, onions, beet, cabbage, cauliflower, and otber seasonable crons can be sown. Plant up cabbage and cauliflower. Tliere should be some good young plants about now. Hand wreeding aijd hoeing will be essential to any young seedling crops from now on. Prepare the ground for planting po-
tatoes and sowing early peas. Work the soil well, and add manure now. Broad beans are not an unqualified success every where, but in heavy soils and cold districts they do well. Make a sowing now.
