MALCOLM — BARNES. Tlie marriage of liliss Doris Uarnes. daugliter of Mr and 51rs W. Barnes, and Mr David Maleolm, son of Mr and Mrs A. Maleolm, "Lu msden,'' Ruataniwlia, Hawke's Bay, was celcbrated at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Cliurcli, Hastings, yesterday afternoon. Ihe Rev. David Shaw ofliciated at the serviee. which commenccd with the h.T mu, "The Yoice that Breatlied o'er Lden." Miss Helen Ford presided at t'le organ and played appropriate liiusic as the guests took their places. Tlie decorations in the cliurcli were aitisticallv arranged with the use oi white, lemon and pink c-hrysanthe-mums. backed with lightsome greenery. The pews for the guests were marked with a posy of flowers and uliite hows. Mr Barnes escorted liis daugliter, who looked charming in a sleeveless frcck of white satin, made, in the picture style, with full gathered skirt of beauitful silver lace. Tlie bridal veil l'ell from a slender wreath of orange blossoms, with posies of orange bJossom. Silver slioes were worn and a bouquet of beautiful white and pink flowers and ferns was carried. Two bridesmaids were in attendance, the Alisses Hazel Barnes, sister of tlie hride, and Jessie Maleolm. sister of the bridegroom. Miss Hazel Barnes was daintily frocked in lemon georgette, with sleeveless bodice, and the skirt tiered with tinv frills. A lemon crinoline hat, and gold brocade slioes were worn, and she carried a beautiful bouquet of lemon clirysantheluums and ferns. IMiss Jessie Maleolm wore an effective frock of cyclamen georgette, made similar to the firtSt-mentioned bridesmaid. Her hat was of cyclamen crinoline straw and slie wore silver shoes, and a bouquet of cyclamen chrysanthemums and ferns was carried. Mr A. Maleolm, brotlier of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr R. Sowrey was groomsman. Subsequently Mr and IMrs W. Barnes entertained a large number of friends at the Zetland Tea ltooms, wbich were eflectively decorated with streamers in P-'nk. lemon and white, and a large v-edding bell, and spaced between the niany clioice confeetions 011 the table were silver vases fillcd with white, lemon and cyclamen chrysanthemums and ferns. Tlie beautiful, square tbree-tiered wedding cake was made by the bride's motlier and covered with icing and v/edding favours. The Rev. D. Shaw proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom, which wos toasted with musical liononrs. Other toasts and liappy speeches followcd. _ Tlie bride travelled in a brown cheni'ie ensemble, with hat to match. In future Mr ancl Mrs Maleolm will reside at Poukawa. Mrs Barnes, motlier of the bride, were a jumper frock of mauve chenille and a brown felt hat, and carried ! mauve flowers. Mrs Maleolm, motlier of the brideg? 00111, wore a navy blue tailored costume and navy blue felt hat, and carried a bouquet of flowers in violet tones. Among otliers present were Mr, Mrs ancl Miss Lowe, Mr, Mrs and the Mi sses Jarvis, Mrs Mitchell and Miss Mitcliell, Mr and Mrs Beale, senr., and Mr and Mrs Beale, junr.
