A hearty vote oi thanks to Mr Tayler concluded a pleasant afternoon. Mr E. Y. Red ward, AVellington, Compiler of Statutes, and a former Orown solicitor and revising bai'rister for friendly societies, died suddenly at the Plimmerton raihvay station on Wednesdav, in his (50th year. Tho lato Alr Redward liad a distinguished career as a puhlic servant. In March, 1888, lie was relieving elerk in tlie Orown Law Office, and was appointed elerk in May, 1888. He was admitted to tho Bar in May, 1805 and appointed assi»tant law otficer in September, 1907. After 40 years' continuous servico as a puhlic servant, Mr Redward rotired in February, 1926, and consented to take up the position of Oompiler of Statutes. oue of tho highest offices in the P'arliamentary scrvice. The late Mr Redward was activelv interesied in sport in liis day, and was half-hack in a AA'ellingtou Rugby team which won the championsliip in 1891. He leaves a widow and four sons. His two sisters are Mrs E. »S. Seamon, of Napier, and Miss I. M. Redward, supervisor of the telephone exchange, Hastings, with all of whom tho deep sympathy of a wide circle of friends will he extended in their sad bereaveineut.
