NGARURORO LEYELS GOING DOWN. A General Hopeful Position. Reports l'rom settlers 011 the banks of the Ngaruroro tliis morning made it apparent that the danger from this river is now all over for the present and the levels are falling rapidly. At tlie same time a large quantity of the water which it had spilled upon adjoining country has now commenced to recede. The only present menace is a resumption of the rain in tlie back country tliat sheds its waters into the tributary streams of tlie Ngaruroro and tlie Tutaekuri, and indications poirit to a lightening of conditions in these areaS.
