SILVER WEDDING
A UNIQUE FUXCTION. A most delightful function was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Hastings, last nigbt, to celebrate the silver ueddiug of Mr and Mrs S. Bonc, of Nelson street, also the 21st birthday of 31 rs Bone's niece, Aliss Alona llorii, daughter of 3fr and 31 rs 3Y. Horn, of Tomoana, and also her engagement to 31r Reginald A. C'olxvill, son of Mr and Mrs 3Y. A. Colwill, of Railway road, Hastings. 31r and 31rs Bonc and 31iss 3Ioiia Hojn stood at the front entrance and received liearty congratulations from . some 200 guests. 3Irs Bone looked very cliarining in a model frock of black French georgette, the skirt falling in uneven hemline.
3Iiss Horn wore a pretty pale pink georgette, the skirt full and falling in points, and she wore a posy on her shoulder and rliinestone necklet. The dance hall was prettily decorated witli coloured streamers and greenery, and dance music was supplied per mediuui of tlie panatropc. The supper-room looked gorgeous with myriads of floating streamers in wliite, pink and blue colours euspended from the ceiling. TiOiig tablcs were crosscd by tlie bridal table, over xvhich hunnr a wedding bcll. Alasses of pink cnm'ellias and wliite narcissi and spravs of xnaidenliair fern filled crystnl bowls and vases, which were placed nlong the table nmong the delicious viands. A beautiful twotiered wedding cake, with filigree icing and a silver vase of xvbito iloxvers.on top, held pridc of placc. The wedding cake was ieed by Miss •T. Harman, Napier, nicce of Mrs S. Bonc. Mr 3V. J. Sliaw proposed thc toast of Mr and 3Irs Bone. and rcferred to his business relations with 31r Bone, paying Mr Bone a' high compliment, and referred in. felicitous terms to 3Trs Bone. The toast xvas drunk xvitli musical honours. 3Ir Bone happily replied and said it gave him verv mucli pleasure to see so many friends present. 3:Ir Langley proposed tlie toast to Miss Horn. and spoke in liappy terms of 3Iiss Horn's abilities and bright disposition. Mr Horn replied on behalf of his daughter and paid her a.liigh compliment, and announced liis daughter's engagement to Mr Reginald A. Colxvill, son of Mr W. A. and Mrs Colxvill, of Railxx'ay road, Hastings. Mr Colwill made a characteristic speech in reply, and thc guests sang "For They Are Jolly Good Felloxx's." Mrs Bohe eut the xvedding cake, and Miss 3rona Horn cut her birthday cakc, on xvliich 21 candlcs gloxved xvlien tlie lights.were lowered. 3Iiss Horn proceeded xvitli the ccremony of bloxving out . tlie candles, xvhieh sho did successfully. Slices of the cakes xvcrc then handed round to tlie guests. After siipper dancing xvent on ti]] tlio early hours, xxdien the guests sang "For They Are Jolly Good Felloxvs," and bid adieu to the guests of Jionour, from xvhom tliey had received such lavish liospitality and pleasure.
