EKTOXICATED WHILE IN CHARGE OE A CAR.

ASHBURTON, This day. I11 the Magistrate's Court this morning William Ernest Clement, a famier, oi Lismore, was fined £5 for heing in charge of a car wliile intoxicated. The police stated that he consumed a bottle of whisky in the early honrs of the morning. He was convicted and discharged for having 110 driver's license. An application for tlie suppression of his namc was vefused and tlie Bench declincd a police i-equest to proliibit the accused from obtaining a license, as the car was his only means of getting his children to sehool.
