LANE GUP SEMI-FINALS. H.S-O.B. AND M.A.C. TO FIGHT FOR POSSESSORSHIP. HAWKE'S BAY JUNIORS BEATEN. Lane Cup "sudden death" Rughy competitions were continued in Napier and Hastings on Saturday with the semi-finals. In Napier, H.S.O.B. beat Hastings by eigbt points to nil, and in Hastings M.A.C. triumphed over Celtic by 31 points to nil. Tlie final round of the Lane Cup will be played next Saturday between M.A.C. and H.S.O.B. Tlie match between Hastings and H.S.O.B. was also for the Hawke's Bay Cliallenge. Sliield for the cliampion club of Hawke's Bay. H.S.O.B. being winners of tbe Napier section and Hastings winners of the Hastings section. As a result of their victory Old Boys retained the trophy and will meet Onga Onga, the Central Hawke's Bay eliampions, as a curtain-raiser to a later representative match. In Hastings, Hawke's Bay juniors played Wairarapa, a stirring displav of second-grade football resulting, the visitors finally winning by the narrow margin of tbree points, tbe final score being 11 — 8 in Wairarapa's favour. Next Saturday, the Hawke's Bay representatives play Poverty Bay at Wairoa, and tbe Napier-Hastings reps. play Central Hawke's Bay at Waipukurau, but the teams for these games will not be announced till next week.
