Y.M.C.A. "DEFEAT UNITED. Hastings United and Napier Y.M.C.A. Soccer teams met on Nelson Park, Napier, ideal weather conditious prevailin'g. The wind, which-was blowing across' the ground, gave little advantage to eitlier side, though somewhat seriously- affected the accuracy- of the'shooting. Hastings United kicked off and attaeked, but the defence was strong and play was kept in neutral territory. * Conditions were in fayour of fast pRy and ihe bait c-oyered a lot of tevritovy, but neither side was able to gaiii any . lasting advantage for some time.
