TOWN BOARD IN COtiNCTL. The monthly meeting of the Taradale Town Board was held last night, Mr R. D. Kelly presiding over Messrs F. 0. Anderson, W. H. C. Howard, J. AVilliamson, 0. H. AYilliaius, GBrown, J. Gilmour. The clerk repoited that a good deal o-f hitumen sealing liad heen done in the nature of repair work, particularly in the township. It would probably be necessary to approach the Main Highways Board for a grant for the reconstnietion of this section. The kerbing and channelling around the memorial was now under construction. A tender had heen accepted for a further dwelliug under the hoai*d's scheme. This would absorb all loan money availahle at tlie j)resent moment. The reeommendatiofi of a committee meeting that an advanr-e of £1750 he made to an appjicant for the erection* of a dwelling in Redcliffe road, tlie* loan to he on the usual terms and to comnience from Octoher 1, 1929, was apnroved. It was clecidcd to raise the £5000 or part of this which constitutes the remainder of the loan granted under the last huilding scheme. ' YVith this it is inten'ded to further energefically nnrsue the hoard's workers' dwelling scheme.
