SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANISATION BEQUESTS. MORE RELIGIOUS TAINING NEEDED.
AUCKLAND, This day. Tlie frequencv of hequests to social setvice organisations throughout New Zealand was claimed by tlie Rev. G. Budd when speaking at 'tlie annual meeting of tlie Auckland Presbyterian 'Ofplianages and Social Service Association to indicate ihe peeuliar present day interest in cliild welfare. •jfr Budd said that he hoped that sucli legacies ■ would continue, with perhaps a wider hasis, as a great- deal of work was being done i'or children who needed financial lielp in addition to orplianago work, and that help was not lieing received to the extent which it miglit he. He referred to tlie religious training of ehildreu's minds in a wider sphere than that of tlie orphanages. It would bo a magnificent thing. he suggested, for people to make wills leaving all they possessed Lo the Auckland- Presbyteiy for exnenditure on children's work generallv in this city anj so enable tlie development of a new pliase of activity.
