THOUGHTLESS PEOPLE.
"INTERESTED."
(To the Editor). Sir, — I wish to^ voice my protestj as well as tliose of other ratepayers, to tlie thoughtless action of some pedestrians of making it a kabit of walkiug on the plots of grass in Carnell street, Aiost residents, I am sure, appreciate the good ' work by the Napier City Council in beautifying our streets by laying down grass lawns and planting shrubs, and it seems hard to understand the mentality of those people, who .apparently have no regard or appreciation of wliat has been done in tlieir own interests. AVell marked tracks* are already . visihle , on these grass plots and if - these people continue to use the grass to walk on, instead of the footpath, which is now quite good for walking, • these plots, wliich cost considerable time and money to put down, Instead of6 heing a thing of beauty, will be quite the reverse and the money so spent will he wasted. Thanking you in anticipation, — I am, etc..
