Almost every kind of vegetable c-an be sown now. Marvow and pumpkins should be afforded some slight protection if gales occur. The planting of tomatoes should only Be done in sheltered positions. The end of October is quite soon enough for general planting. Sow leeks, carrots, cahbage, cauliflowers. Plantings of cahbage. etc., can be , made. Lettuce should he sown to suit requirements. , Sow peas so as to keep up a succes sion Beans can be sown in sheltered posi t tions.
