3IELBOURNE, Oct. 24., Tho State 3Iinistery was defeated in the Legislative Assembly on a motion for the adjoarnment of the House, moved by a Country Progressive Party member, Mr Glowery, who charged the 3Iini.story with failure to provide adequate relief for settlers who wbre suffering great hardships owing to bad seasons. Tlie voting was 34 to 30,. Subsequently tlie Prenuer, 31r" 3tcPherson, announcecl tbat he would meet the House to-morrow, , It is probablo that tlie Blinistery will intelprct the voting as a gesture, of 110 confidence and will seek dissolution and a general election will be held. . Later. — The Premier has requested the Lieutenant-Governor, Sir Williaitt Irvine, to gl'ant a dissolution.
