In conneetion with the proposed removal of the water tanks in the rail- . wa.v yards in Russell street, the Hastings "Borough Council last night decicled that the Railway Departmeut be informed that if the tanks are removed and the stand pipes established the council will sunply water to the departmeut free of charge for a period of five years: at the end of that time the muller to be further reviewed.
