Xancy Carroll. tlie rittle red-headed bunch of femininity, and Charles Rogers sing in Paramonnt's latest alltalking and singing comedv-romance, "CJose Hannony," which is drawing clelighted and ca|iacity audiences niglitl.v to the ever popular Gaiet.y de Luxe. In addition to singing a tuneful s.ong hit "I'm All A-twitter," Rogers. as the leader of a jazz band, also plays five instruments himself. His versatile performance is aided and ahetted hv Nancy Carroll, who sings, "1 Wanna Go Places and Do Tliings," a tuneful number that promises to he a prime favourite during the coinlng season. Tliose who liave lieard Miss Carroll sing in some of lier other pictures know that slie has one of tlie most pleasing voices yet to he lieard from the screen. Supporting Jfiss Carroll and Rogers, who. incidentally, carry on a. most delightful romance, are two excellent comedians. Jack Oakie and Skeets Gallaglier, wlio. as tlie Harmon.y Boys, vaudeville lieadliners, sing and carry on a line of liumour and fun that shoukl win the favour of audiences everywhere. Another player in tlie cast, wliile not well known to the general movie puhlic, lias heen asSociated with the stage fpr liuiny years and contributes a performance that should prove to he highly amusing. He is Harry Green, cast as the manager of a vaudeville tlieatre where Rogers and Miss Carroll are on the bill. As the manager, overcome hy- t-he- foibles of teniperamental stars, he is really excellent. "Close Harmony" is a storv of a boy's ambition and liow he realised it. The intimate glimpses of tlie stage and the people who earn tlieir living there niake one- of the most interesting stories that have reaclied the screen. See and liear it. Girls, gaietv, laughter and fun are all intermiugled with jazz and harmony. Seldom lias a combination of "shorts" received the ajiplause from a- deliglited audience as those included in this stupendous series. "Xow and Then,'' is a playlet' of olden times and. present day songs and dances which has received a hearty reception at every performance. "Dear Yivian," a comedy plav of the most amusing type, is full of laughs and complications. Lillian Rotli, a noted Broadway star and her piano hoys, "Humorous Flights," a funny talk on birds, "Pathe's Sound News" and ''Pathe's Audio Reyiew," all liold the highest ]ilace in their own particular line, the whale forming.-an eutertainnient which must draw another capacitv house on its farewell performance this evening.
