NO CARS IN HERETAUNGA STREET, BOROUGH COUNCTL'E DECISION. It is expected tliat. traffic, both pedestrian and motor, in Hastings tomorrow niglit, will lie almost as heavy as it will he. on Cliristmas Eve. and in view of this, Traffic Insjiectov .1. R. Dunnctt suggested to _ last night's meeting of the Hastings Borough Council. that the main street sliouk. be closed to vcliicnlar traffic. the same as it will he on Christmas Eve. The snggestion created a fair arnount of discussion. both for. and ngainst- the proposnl, hut it was finally decided hy five votes to fonr that the street be closed from King sbreet to Hastings street and for one bloelc on eitlier side.
