Vliss Evans, lady reporter of the Daily Telegrap.li, Hastings branch, was given a mosfc entertaining afternoon at the Wome n's Club on Wednesday afterhoon hy a number of her friends of the club. Over thirty guests were present and hridge was plaved. The cluh rooms were racl'ant witn heautiful roses and sweet peas and Tc'eland poppies in howls and vases. Mesdames -T. Shand, T. Cunuingham and H. Stratto'n were hostesses. Afternoou tea was served on trays. a tvay for eacli table. Occasiou was taken to present Miss Evans with a bouquet of stocks and sweet peas in mauve and pink colours, and a Christmas purse from the rnembers, and o bououet of rleen violet sweet peas from Mrs F. Budd. NTis .T. Shand and Mrs H. Strnttou made tlie presentatious and referi'ed to the popularitv of the guest. of honour aniong a la'rge circle of friends. and on hehalf of the, memhers wished her a very happv Christmas and Ne.w Year. , . , Prizes for bridge were presented hy tlie hostesses and at the conclusion of plnv the prizes were presented to the winners.
