DJST1UBUT10N OF I'JUZKS. Yesterday afternoou, parents and children assembled at the Esk View School to take part iu the distrilmtion of prizes. Mr Phillips, chairman of the school conimittee, presented tlie books, which had been selected by the teachers. He made rcferouee to the uniqne scholastic record of George Mollett, a lad in Std. 6, who unfortunately suficred from an accident and therebv was unable to conipete for dux hon- ' onrs. The boy then received a beauti- ! tui gold medal geneiously donated bv j Mr F. Rench, of Eskdale. _ • I Songs and rooitations were- given during tlie afternoou. I Albert Gompton, of Std. 6, pre- ! sented Mr Cockerill with a set of I earvers in recognition of the pains he 1 had taken in prepitring the pupils jcS Std. 6 for their exaimnation, at which they were so suceessful. A furtlier presentation of a fountain pen, suitabfv inscrihed, was made to Miss M. Saunders hy Mr Cockerill, on behalf of the pupils and teachers oi" the school. Miss Saunders this year eompletes her prohationership and pioceeds to the trainuig college next year.
