Plane Crashes In Mountains.

. LONDON, Dec. 18. Ylessages froiu Tunis state tliat the Fairey Napier Monoplane in which two Royal Air Force officers, SquadronLeatler Jonos- Williams and FliglitLieutenant Jenkins, starfced from Cranwell aerodroine, in Lincolnshire, in an attempt to flv non-stop to ( Soiith Africa, a distauce of 6000 miles. and tlms establish a world lo)ig distance record, crashed in a storm in' the mountainous region of Zaghouan, southward of Tunis. Arahs discovered the bodies of tlie aviators beneath '■ the wreekage. Troops hurricd to tli^ scene and are bringing tlie bodies to Tunis lo-mor-row. No signal was received from the big plane's wireless since passing Sardinia at four o'clock on Tucsday. It was tliought tbat possibly tlie Fairey was out of range of home stations and that there was no reason to helieve a disaster had occurred. After 24 liours ' waiting, however, forebodings were aroused and confirmed at eleven o'clock by a message rcporting ihe crasli. Tlie Times' aeronautical correspondent siiggests that ihe airman had flovvn too far east to avoid tlie main Atlas range and reach the Zaghouan spur, where ihe range averages 4090 I'eet and wliich lliey mnst rouiul to set a course for Cnpetown, hetweeu sunsct and nmonrise, and tliat when flying low* to try and fix their position tbey struck tlie mountain in tlie darkness when in a few minutes the vvorst risks would have heen over. •
