Following a final conference witlf the Japanese delegates, Senator Stimson announped that an agreement had been established in the Amex-ican andJapanese objectives. He said that 110 figures or details liad been discussed, beeause those matters must wait the full conference ao tion. Senator Stimson, in a separate formal statOment, vigorouslj'' . chalienged the Washington Pdst leader alleging that the Secretarv of the Navy, i\)i" Adarns. was slighted in 'not having been invited to meet tlio Japanese. Senator Stimson declared tliat the" leader was written with the deliberate intention "to make trouble among the, American delegates to the conference and members of the President's Oabint, to discredit our Government before tbe Japanese delegation and thns try to cause a breakdown of tbe London conference."
