Plantings of cabbage and cauliflowers can be made. lf signs of leaf spot appears tbe best vny, if the eabbago is ready, or nearly ready, is to cuii it. Tliin out sccdling crops. Once a crop is done dig over the ground, and eitlier replant or sow with a cover crop. AJake a sowing of turnips and swedes. Gaterpillars can be controlled by nrsenate of lead. Spray as soon as tlie plant insect is seen ; they never come •me at a time. For everv one seen, a tkousand unseen can be considered. Apliis is best controlled by black leaf 40, or otliev similar nicotine wasli. Tliree .sprayings at intervals of tliree clays is necessary to be sure of complete control. Cut vegetable marrows as soon as large enough. Cut and boiled before tbe seeds liarden is the proper wav to serve marrow. and in this form .iusti[ies tlie n amo of vegetable marrow. Broccoli. Bru.ssels sprouts and other Winter greens can be planted out. Tbe ground sbould not be too light for these. Ei rm ground is necessary to procluee firm plants. Tf using potato ground for ATinter green simplv lioe off the weeds and plant; there is nn need to dig it over.
