CIVIL COURT ACTIONS

DEFENDED CASES HEARD. Mr A. M. Mowlem, S.M., heard three defended civil actions at the Hastings Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon. The first was one in which A. Young (Mr C. W. Nash) claimed from C. J. and C. E. McNab (Mr HaJlett) £31 ls damages alleged to have resulted from an assault. Defendants counter-claim-ed £15 10s in connection with the purchase of goods. His WorBhip non-suited both parties and ordered them to pay their own costs, In the second case, D. Sinclair (Mr W. E. Bate) sued T. and J. Hislop (Mr Wedde) for £10 18s damages resulting from a motor car accident. Judgment was given for plaintiff for £9 0s 6d and costs £5 12s. * The third case was one in which the Central Motor Exchange (Mr A. S. Tonkin) sued B. Sanders for 18s car storage. Judgment was given for the, nmpunt claimed and 11s costs.
