INTERESTING DISCOVERY
ARE THEY MOA BONE8? RECOVERED FROM POUKAWA LAKE. Whilst working on the new canal at the Poukawa lake, the steam grab brought up from a depth of about 20 feet below the swamp, a set of bones. These were inspected by the members of the Hastings Chamber of Commerce yesterday, and although no one was able to ldentify the bones, it was surmised that they were the remains of a moa. Mr G. H. Strong engineer in charge of the work, is keeping the bones to have . them identified.
