Love makes ihe cock-eyed world go round at a pace that keeps it cock-eyed! And your own eyes will pop out at the new amours and adventures of Flagg and Quirt of "What Price Glory?" Your optics will.surely get blurred from laughine at tlie comic eiitanglements which their off-hand romances bring about. Everyone wbo remembers these swaggering sons of battle in their first memorable picture will hail their return in another tale of wild women and walloping wars. They're hoth reduced to the rank of sergeant ilow, but that only means more power to 'em in their undying riv airies. The sun of mirth never sets on this Flagg, nor on the quirks of humour from Quirt, If you can't see "The Cock-eyed World," see a doctor! The cast, headed by yictor McLaglen, Edmund Lowe, and Lily Damita, is one of the important reasons for this picture's success. McLaglen and Lowe are again playing their roles of "Flagg" and "Quirt." McLaglen made an outstanding success of his part in that Broadway special. "The Black Watch," "Captain Lasli," "Strong Boy," and other Fox .specials. Lowe's work in "In Old Arizona" and other features was also outstanding. Vhile Lily Damita, one of France's finesfc beauties, a former star of tlie Folies Bergere, scored repeated hits in a number of hig American productions. Other hig elements not to he neglected in enumerating the salient facts ahout "The Cock Eyed "World," are the song hits written especially for this picture; "So Loug," now a marching song - for tlie Marines; "Elenita,"r sung by Miss Damita and, "So Dear tb Me," beautifully reudered by Bobby Burns. Seveil orchestras are other appeahng reasons ; two U.S. Navy bands, one from Maro Island, Vallejo, California, and aHother from the Marine Base at San Diego ; a Russian Balailaikai Orchestra of twelve soloists ; the famous Mexican Band of Agua Caliente; also Jose Arias' Spanish string band Serenaders; the "hottest" jazz orchestra in California for the special Coney Island sequence, and the U.S. Naval Barracks orchestra. The, greatest assemhlage of "Sound" topicals ever presented to any audience. including "Pathe News," "Pathe Audio Review," "Fox Movietone News," and "Paramount News, completes a night' s . entertainmeiit which should not be missed by those in search qf the best in talkie fare.
