extension' oe napier' substation. , As a further indication of the extended scope of the supply of electricity from Mangahao and ^Vaikaremoana hydro-electric schemes, Cabinet has authprised the calling of tenders for ext^nsion of the sub-stations at Napier and Wanganui, and the erection of new sub-stations at Hawera, Stratford and New Plymquth. The new stations are in preparation for the j supply of electric power from the majin system to Taranaki. A transmission line survey from Wanganui to Stratford has been completed, and hardwood poles are expeeted to land early 'in April. - The line to Stratford will "be of 100,000 volts, while from this point to New Plymouth the' volfage will ' he' 50,000. The Stratford-New Plymouth' line was erected some timo ago. and leased to -the New Plvniouth ' Power Boar 3 ' for the' transmission of power from Tariki. The whole of - the new Bcheme is to he completed by Ctftober, 1931.
