CONDITIONS AT AUCKLAND HOSPITAL. MORE ACCOMMODATION URGENLTY WANTED.
AUCKLAND, This day, The number of patients _ occupying beds in the Auckland hospital to-day was 685. The past week has heen a busy one with tlie total' often in the vicinity of 700, while tlie peak was reached on Saturda.y last. with 705 patients occupying beds. Some clironic cases will he removed to the infirmary at Epsom to relieve the congestion, but tliere space is limited. - Tlie question of providing increased accommodation-at tlie infirmary will he considered hy the Hospital Board at a special meeting next week. "The question of accommodation is always a serious oue with a big hospital," said Dr.' C. T. Maguire, medical superintendent. "There is always a laro-e waiting list and I thinlc we would still he crowded if we had another 400 heds."
