HIGGS—BECKETT.

A picturesque wedding, and one in which there was widespread local interest, was that of Trevor Terence Higgs, eldest son of Mr and Mrs HifiSS, of Gisborne, and Miss Grace Amy Beckett, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs George Beckett, of Frasertown, which was solemnised at Christ Church, Frasertown, on Tuesday. Aichdeacon Butterfield officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of shell pink crepe do cliine, with flare dipping at back, the frock being finished off with silver shoes and stockings, and shellpmk veil, held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms. The veil was the gift of Mrs W. Mogridge. The bride carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums and ferns, also Mrs Mogridge's gift._ Miss Higgs (sister of the bridegroom) acted as bridesmaid. She was attired in a Princess Mary gown of blue georgette in Yictoria lines with flared skirt, dipping at back and finished with a diamante at the waist. She wore a band of gold leaves finished with a bow of tulle, gold shoes and stockings, and carried a bouquet of pink chrysanthemums and ferns. Mr Harold Beckett (brother of tbe bride) acted as best man. A reception at tbe residence of tbe bride's parents followed the ceremony. 3VIrs G. Beckett received in a handsome model _ frock of black -lace over crepe de chine, black hat and' sboes, grev tulle fichu. She carried a bouquet of gold and red chrysantbemums. The parents of the bridegroom were . unfortunatetly unable to be present. Mrs "W. Mogridge wore a model frock of rose pink crepe de chine, with fawn trimmings. shell pink hat relieved' with fawn ribbon and a coloured. spray, and wore fawn shoes and stockings. Among the guests present were : — Archdeacon Butterfield, Mrs Stacey, who presided at the organ, and wore a smart black coat with fur trimmings and hat to tone; Mrs Jack Beckett, figured velvet; Mrs C. • Beckett, smart red jumper suit, hat and shoes to tone; Mrs H. Rathcliffe and Mrs Clifford, Messrs Higgs, J. • C. and A. Beckett, Mogridge and Ellison.
