VALEDICTORY
BUSINESSMAN FAREWELLED. MR JOSEPH PH1LLIPS LEAYING ON HOLIDAY. Mr Joseph Phillips, who is leaving shortly on a holiday trip to England, was farewelled by a gathering of Hastings businessmen yesterday at the Club Tea Rooms. Mr David Scannell presided, and in presenting Mr Phillips with a travelling rug, referred to him as a man of integrity and a good comrade whose high charaeter had firmly estahlished him in the good opinions of the commercial and social communities of the district.
